1. ALICIA VIKANDER
Alicia Vikander has been a professional actress for many years, actually starting out as a child actress in Swedish film and television. She burst onto the global scene when she won acclaim for her roles in Testament of Youth (2014), Ex Machina (2014), and her Academy Award-winning role as painter Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl (2015). She’s got drama down, but she’s also flexed her muscles in action roles in such films as The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), Jason Bourne (2016), and Tomb Raider (2018). In my humble opinion, she was born to portray Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman, in the MCU. Drew, not to be confused with Jessica Jones, is basically the female version of Peter Parker, but that might be over-simplified. She’s had a pretty complex backstory, being raised by a mad scientist, and genetically altered, working for Hydra, then SHIELD, before joining the Avengers; or, there’s the Ultimate version where she’s just a Peter Parker clone.
Either way, the character is a perfect fit for Vikander who has proved she can handle Drew’s style and grace, and be believable as a secret agent or wall-crawler. Hopefully, Marvel got the rights to Spider-Woman when they went into an agreement with Sony for Spider-Man. Vikander’s Jessica Drew would be a great addition to the MCU in the future.
