17. ROWAN BLANCHARD
Rowan Blanchard has a recurring character on the ABC series, The Goldbergs, and can most recently be seen in the film, A Wrinkle in Time. However, she might be best known for starring in the Disney series, Girl Meets World. She’s definitely a teen to watch and as an up-and-comer, she’s also primed to take on one of Marvel’s newest hit characters, Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel. Like Khan, Blanchard also has a Middle-Eastern heritage, and she’s actually just about the right age to tackle the role. The character of Kamala Khan has taken off in popularity. She’s a New Jersey native hit with Terrigen Mist unlocking her Inhuman DNA. She develops shape-changing abilities where she can shrink to mere inches, grow to immense stature, or just enlarge her fists to the size of small cars!
With Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel film in the pipeline, the time is right for Khan, who takes up the moniker Ms. Marvel being that she’s a huge fan of the Captain.
Introducing Blanchard as Khan would make sense, given the Captain Marvel film, as well as Inhumans and Terrigen Mist already having been introduced in ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She’d be a perfect addition to the upcoming Spider-Man sequel.
16. O’SHEA JACKSON, JR.
Looking exactly like a younger version of his father rapper Ice Cube, O’Shea Jackson, Jr. can be seen portraying his legendary father in the 2015 biographical film, Straight Outta Compton. Jackson was a standout in his film debut and followed that up with roles in Ingrid Goes West (2017) and Den of Thieves (2018). While he is continuing to build a name for himself as a talented actor in Hollywood, he just might be ready for the MCU or DC to come calling. Or, he should call them! Being that his overall body of work might be that extensive, it should be noted that Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment are already casting their die with Jackson as they’ve cast him for a role in 2019’s big-budget film, Godzilla: King of Monsters. Jackson could be perfect for a modern portrayal of the vampire slayer, Blade, in an MCU reboot of the neo-classic Wesley Snipes films.
Wesley Snipes embodied the role, and he’s been lobbying to be allowed to continue, but a younger incarnation might be where it’s at. Jackson in the role might be exciting and refreshing! It might be a franchise he could build on and use to cement his star status.
